Turn PNG photos, banners and transparent graphics into WebP files for your website or app. Drop them below; they are converted on your own device.
1
Drag them onto the box above, or click Choose Files. Add as many as you need; the request to convert them to WebP is already in place.
2
The assistant opens with your images and lists WebP among the formats, with the size it expects for your files. One tap converts the whole set.
3
Each image comes back as a WebP file, ready to download, and the PNG files you dropped stay unchanged.
PNG is lossless, which makes photos and large graphics heavy on a web page. WebP compresses them, usually to a fraction of the PNG size, and unlike JPG it can keep a transparent background, so a logo or a cut-out still sits cleanly on any color.
The conversion is lossy at its default high quality: photos look the same, while very fine lines and small text can soften a little. For pixel-exact graphics such as screenshots of text, keep the PNG, or ask for a higher quality in the request.
Everything happens in your browser, with its own encoder. WebP is offered only when your browser can write a real WebP file. Hidden details such as the location are not copied into the new files.
Yes. WebP supports transparency, so the see-through parts of a PNG logo, icon or cut-out remain see-through in the WebP.
That depends on the picture. Photos and gradients usually shrink the most, flat graphics with few colors less, and the size shown for each image before converting tells you what to expect.
Displaying WebP and writing it are different browser capabilities. If WebP cannot be written, keep PNG or choose JPG instead; the converter refuses to label a different format as WebP.
No. It works in a modern web browser on a computer or a phone, with no account to create, nothing to install and no watermark on the result.
No. Every result is saved as a new file, and the file you dropped stays exactly as it was.
